HandpanTune uses microphone access only when you choose to start the tuner.
Permission is your choice
The site does not request microphone access when a page loads. Your browser asks for permission only after you press Start Microphone.
Analysis happens locally
Microphone audio is analyzed in real time by your browser to estimate pitch, frequency and cents. HandpanTune does not record, store or upload your audio.
The microphone stops when you stop
Pressing Stop closes the active microphone tracks and audio context. The tuner also releases them when you leave the page.
No unnecessary tracking
This version does not include advertising trackers, third-party analytics or a cookie consent banner. Tuner readings are not saved.
Want to remove access?
You can review or revoke microphone permission at any time through your browser's site settings. If access is blocked, the tuner will explain how to try again.
